Follow the Steps of Saint Paul

1st  Day

Athens: Arriving from ……

Transfer to the hotel, situated in Athens. Accommodation. Dinner. Overnight stay.

2nd Day Athens       
After breakfast we will visit the Acropolis to see the ruins of the Parthenon, Erectheum and Propylae. There St. Paul spoke to the ancient Athenians. We will also stand on the Mars Hill to enjoy the view of the Agora, the ancient market place. Later, we will see the House of Parliament, the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Presidential Palace, Hadrian’s Arch and the Panathenaic Stadium.  Free Time. Dinner and overnight stay in Athens.

3rd Day Athens – Kalambaka

After our breakfast we drive towards the city KALAMBAKA. We visit Meteora, the famous Byzantine monasteries. Accommodation. Dinner. Overnight stay in Kalambaka.

4th Day Meteora – Veria – Thessaloniki
After breakfast, transfer to Veria or also known the ancient city of Beroea (this is how is usually found in some translations of the Bible), which was prominent from the 4th century BC and part of the Kingdom of Macedon. Saint Paul and Silas preached there in 54 or 55 AD. Then we head towards the city of Thessaloniki, where we start our sightseeing: White Tower, Ano Poli, the Agora, the Cathedral of St. Dimitrius, Aristotle’s Place. Thessaloniki served as a huge center of trade in Ancient Greece. The many Orthodox cathedrals, attest to the fact that Thessaloniki has remained a cultural, political and economic hub for the past 2,000 years. Paul’s visit to Thessaloniki is recorded in the Bible in Acts. (Acts, chapter 17:1-9) St.Paul also writes two letters to the congregation at Thessaloniki. Accommodation. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight stay in Thessaloniki.

5th Day Thessaloniki – Kavala – Philippi

After breakfast, transfer to Kavala and Philippi for sightseeing. Philippi is the place where St. Paul preached his first evangelical sermon and baptized the first Christian on European soil. Return to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight stay in Thessaloniki.

6th Day Thessaloniki – Delphi

After breakfast transfer to Delphi, the center of the Ancient world – the “omphalos” (navel) of the earth – whose prestige extended far beyond the boundaries of the Hellenic world. On the slopes of Mount Parnassus, in a landscape of unparalleled beauty and majesty, lie the ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios. Stay and dinner at Delphi.

7th Day Delphi – Peloponnese

After breakfast we drive towards Peloponnese. A short stop at the Canal of Corinth and then we drive to the Ancient Corinth for sightseeing. It is the place where St. Paul preached and lived for two years. The vigorous and mostly Gentile Church he founded here in 50 AD caused him much grief and prompted him to write at least four letters to them. To enjoy devotional in the midst of the ruins of the church of Corinth band see the pillars, steps, and public worship place where Paul preached. It will enhance your understanding and love of I & II Letter to Corinthians. Visit to the ruins of the ancient city where St. Paul worked with Aquila and Priscilla. See the remains of first century shops, the agora where St. Paul’s trial by Gallio took place, the Fountain of Peirene, Temple of Apollo and the Bema. Check in to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight stay in Peloponnese.

8th Day Epidavros – Nafplio – Mycenae                                                      
After breakfast we drive towards EPIDAVROS to visit among others the best preserved Greek theatre, which is famous for its magnificent acoustics. Then, we meet NAFPLIO, the first capital city of modern Greece. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in Greece, situated by the sea. There you can visit the Venetian Fortress at the port, the defense city walls and the tower, situated on the hill Palamidy. Follows Mass at the Catholic Church. Then we will travel to Mycenae where the remains of the ancient city date back to the Bronze Age. There we will admire the Lionesse Gate, the Tomb Agamemnon. Return to the hotel. Dinner.

9th Day Free Day

At the last day of this trip we will have some free time to relax and get ready for our return. However, optionally we suggest a short cruise through the Corinth canal. Dinner and overnight stay at the resort in Vrachati.

10th Day Return

Transfer to the airport in Athens.  Departing to…………………………………
